VALUEDMINDS.COM was created by a parent who wanted to know what a children’s book was like—before bringing it home!  See How ValuedMinds Was Conceived.

  • ValuedMinds reviews are like a nutritional diagnosis for books - you can quickly learn if a book offers boredom or suspense, destiny or heroism, propaganda or fact, naturalism or drama.
  • A mother will carefully read nutrient labels to bring home the best food for her baby's body, but will she be as careful when she feeds her child's mind?
  • Now you can judge a children’s book by its contents - not its cover.

VM Review Statements

VM provides up to three statements about each book, when possible and warranted. All three are available on a book’s display page; the first two only appear on Search Result pages.

  1. Plot*-Theme Statement - the theme and the essential action of the plot that establishes it.
  2. Brief Review - to give you a quick ‘feel’ for the book & it’s score.
  3. Long Review - outlines the book, & airs its benefits or weaknesses; a critique.

VM grades a book’s literary elements, to a maximum score of 100 points, just as a teacher might grade an essay.
